You will work in a detailed and independent manner across the various disciplines of the tax department including quarterly and year-end tax provisions, tax accounting, and federal and state compliance.  This position will have primary focus on overseeing the tax accounting for federal, state, and foreign tax entities.  Due to the varied requirements of this role, candidates should have strong technical tax knowledge including experience with ASC 740 and must be able to manage and prioritize multiple work assignments.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the preparation, review, and reconciliation of federal, state, and foreign tax provisions and balance sheet accounts (taxes payable, DTL/DTA) and determination of valuation allowances for deferred tax assets.  Includes preparation of related income tax footnotes and other tax disclosures required under IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Perform analysis of federal, state, and foreign tax exposures, including the determination of appropriate tax reserves.  Ensure all required documentation to support reserves is prepared and maintained.
  • Develop and execute a plan to transition the tax provision process from excel to a vendor supported tax provision software.
  • Lead and assist in general tax projects as needed and provide daily support for ongoing activities of the tax department in the areas of miscellaneous corporate filings, international taxes, and strategic tax planning.
 
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance related major
  • Helpful Certificates/Licenses: CPA and/or MST
 
MINIMUM PRIOR RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE TYPICALLY REQUIRED:
  • 3+ years of prior work experience



ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Strong technical tax knowledge including experience with ASC 740 (FAS 109 & FIN 48) and IFRS
  • Solid accounting background and analytical and reconciliation abilities
  • Experience with CorpTax Tax Provision Software is preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work flow
  • Focus on deadlines and perform self-review of work

An ability to deal with people, work precisely, perform analysis. An ability to follow instructions, employ technical skills and performs problem solving.
