DCIO Consultant Relations Associate

The Defined Contribution Investment Only Consultant Relations Associate (DCIO CRA) will work as a member of the DCIO team to support the sales effort across a multitude of areas. The primary responsibility is to provide dedicated support to the key account / consultant community and the Consultant Relations Manager (CRM) by receiving, prioritizing and coordinating the review and response process for inbound requests. In this role, the CRA’s goal is to be the central point of contact for the CRM’s needs, including project work and inbound requests with the ultimate goal of gaining traction in the marketplace for Putnam’s DC product offerings.



Provide Dedicated Support to DCIO CRM and their Contacts

  • Provide seamless support to assigned firms regarding all inquiries related to relationship
  • Act as in-office back-up to CRM as their role involves considerable travel
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests for information (RFI) / requests for proposals (RFP) specific to the firm and investment offerings
  • Assist in the preparation and follow-up for both onsite and offsite meetings, as well as conferences, to maximize DCIO team's interactions with respective firms
  • Communicate transparently with CRM regarding all work to ensure seamless coverage of contacts
  • Assist others on DCIO team with project work
  • As requested, attend industry conferences and meetings with assigned firms
  • Elevate Putnam brand awareness
  • Become a DC subject matter expert

Research Process Support
  • Serve as primary point of contact for all data, RFI / RFP, and due dilligence requests and coordinate the review / response process associated to each
  • Main point of contact to work with the RFP team for DCIO key account / consultant content questions and requests
  • Assist in distribution of quarterly email drip campaigns
  • Responsible for fostering strong relationships with junior analysts across firms

Salesforce
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of records and update as needed
  • Maintain opportunity entries
  • Enter and update Research Process for firms
  • Serve as liaison for DCIO team's Salesforce initiatives

Internal Relationship Building
  • Work closely with portfolio management staff, product specialists, PRM, PGIM, RFP, DCIO team members and other departments across the firm while demonstrating a strong understanding of the firm's products and services across distribution channels
  • Maintain a strong line of communication with the entire DCIO team, providing pertinent information regarding firms prior to meetings / conferences and assist in follow-up efforts with their assigned consultants / advisors 
  • Attend appropriate internal product meetings to ensure product knowledge, DC industry trends and sales ideas

Required Experience / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses required
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in the financial or investment management industry is preferred
  • Direct DC sales experience preferred
  • Advanced investment / product knowledge
  • Understanding of the various financial products and retirement platforms available in the retirement market
  • Strong sales, phone, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently in managing multiple deadlines and projects
  • Team player and detail oriented
  • Willingness and ability to travel periodically
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving landscape
