The Client Reporting Team is responsible for producing client and sales materials in support of all business channels including U.S. Retail, Defined Contributions, Offshore and Global Institutional.  Putnam strives to have the most competitive client and sales materials in our industry and we believe the materials we produce are key component of our clients’ experience.


Primary responsibilities:

  • The Client Reporting Associate will provide statistical reporting, analysis, and materials across all asset classes in Putnam (i.e. Domestic Equity, International Equity, and Fixed Income) and business channels (Retail, Institutional, International).  The Client Reporting Associate will consult with multiple internal teams to determine relevant data for the analysis and reporting.   They will also work closely with the Product Team, Investment teams and Information Services to provide critical information, performance characteristics, and analysis to support the Putnam sales, marketing and client service efforts. 
  • Access, analyze, interpret and display all appropriate and relevant data as it relates to investment performance, characteristics, and attribution of returns across all Putnam business channels and product groups (i.e. Domestic Equity, International Equity and Fixed Income).  Review data for reasonability as well as compare rates of return, benchmarks and investment processes of the particular products.  Utilize reporting tools to generate and deliver reports.  Relevant data may also include but is not limited to:
  • Performance attribution
  • Asset allocation
  • Asset reconciliation
  • Competitive market analysis detail
  • Prioritize distribution and meet deadlines for all appropriate and relevant data including standard and customized reports and “template” material (i.e., client review books, sales and prospect materials, consultant questionnaires, RFPs).  Deliver data and analyses to internal clients on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc basis; ensure that the data is distributed through the most efficient and effective vehicles with accuracy and within requested deadlines.
  • Work with the team and internal business partners (Product Management, Technology, Operations, and others) to build out and maintain high end reporting tool to support marketing and sales materials on an ongoing basis.
  • Proactively identify alternate solutions to improve current processes for data access, distribution and service levels. Ensure optimum performance, reliability and efficiency of the distribution of materials by initiating meetings with internal resources in Putnam Global Institutional Management, Retail Management, Technology, Investments, and Operations.

 

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one year of related experience.  A background in performance, attribution, portfolio accounting or client service is preferred. 
  • Demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills including knowledge of the investment industry as it relates to investment performance, characteristics and attribution required.  The Client Reporting Associate has ultimate responsibility for the overall quality of data and commentary contained in materials and, therefore must have a strong attention to detail.
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills.
